Franca Mechnig is a self taught painter who studied architecture. She works with acrylic paints, acrylic gels and gold leaf on large-format canvases of gallery quality. Her works are characterised by minimalism while at the same time having a powerful effect. She finds inspiration in her urban surroundings, as well as when travelling or in the impressive vastness of the ocean. After stays in London and Copenhagen, German-Italian Franca Mechnig currently lives in Munich.

My vision 

"For my collections I had different approaches. For Ultramarine my aim is to create art that evokes feelings of calmness and peace in a fast evolving world. In contrast, the upside Collection has a completely different mission. Their artworks have an energizing effect and shall help being motivated and positive thinking while surroundings may be grey. I really hope that my art will make people feel something."​
